it hit me that I am actually a 5 year post op. I first started this journey back in September of 99. I have survived 4 surgeries-numererous hospital stays, bouts of depression. Here are some things I learned Our nerves stick out long before our ribs do. Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. I like to shop. I choose how I react and what goes into my mouth. I am not a victim. Sometimes I am a volunteer. There are addicting foods in this world. Life is too short to dwell on negativity. Get over yourself. None of us are that important. Yes I still do shakes. I have to watch because I do not dump and there isn't hardly anything I cannot eat. There are people who are willing to support you. Beware of those who push their own agenda. You must pay it forward. It is important to both give and receive.

Jack congratulations on five years of better health AND better looks! Yeehaw! Your message really was inspiring. My faves were "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" and "... sometimes I'm a volunteer." I gotta remember to stop volunteering! Best wishes, Kitty B.
