Info on Ohio state
Hello, My husband and I are thinking of moving to Ohio. He's a Truck driver and he spends most of he's time back east. Everything here in Az is so expensive my Elecric bill during the summer is 220.00 thats just a swap cooler. He drives thru Ohio all the time and said it's beutiful and cost of living is less there. Lots of Farms and small towns. I grew up in a small town in the mountains of Colorado and at Christmas I miss the snow it's not the same here. 70's on christmas Not for me. I miss the seasons. So if there's anyone who can't point me out to some nice smaller towns, with friendly people. I don't want the BIG city's web sites, info on rental's, mobile homes with land. We are not rich and need a place to start.
Thanks and hope to be seeing you next summer

Teresa,
My family lived in Greenville, Ohio, which is on the western border of the state, for 6 years. It's a quaint little farming town that is surprisingly sophisticated in many ways. Our family loved it there. Search for Darke County on the web, they have a page but I don't remember what it is.
Good luck,

OMG...if you want small towns...Ohio had them. Just moved to Florida in July...born and raised a Buckeye. I grew up in central southern Ohio (Portsmouth), it was nice, just 2 hours to Cincy or Columbus. Also, other larger cities close by in KY & WV. Does he travel a particular highway through Ohio?...it shouldn't be too hard to find a nice town on his route.
First off let me say Thank you for you responses and so SPEEDY!!!! It takes days to get a responce from AZ boards, Don't know if it people are just cold hearted or self centered. But I knew people back east where friendly and willing to speak up and support people. I have been on the boards for two yrs and mostly a looker. I had a few bad response and less support so I just didnt post. This last month I have been really trying to put myself out there and change my thinking.
My husband has traveled several roads there I know when I was with in in July we were on 80/90 and 71 He said to start looking south/western so sounds like what you metioned. I am excited, ready to go now!!!
my surgery is 46 days been waiting for 2 yrs. Good Luck to those of you who are looking into this surgery and congrads to those who have crossed over. Thanks Teresa
Teresa, Ohio isn't called the heart of it all for nothing! Ohio is known by many to have the friendliest people anywhere!
Good Luck on your journey!
I grew up in a teeny tiny, I mean TEENY tiny burb, we didn't even get the su-part of the burb, but unfortately it is also in BFE and nowhere near OSU. It's nowhere near anywhere either...lol Ok outside of Toledo about 25 miles, @ the end of the road and at the end of the road is the lake.
I live near a little town called Logan. We are just off of 180. If you like the mountains then you might want to take a look at the Hocking Hills area. It is beautiful!! We are around an hr from Columbus and 20-30 min from Logan and Lancaster. It is in South Eastern OH. Just try looking on the web for hockinghills.com
Good Luck!

You may want to try the Circleville area or the Chillicothe area. Both places are relatively close to Columbus, which I like due to any major health problems etc. plus it is close for shopping and entertainment Circleville is approx. 20 mins. from Columbus and Chillicothe is probably 30 mins or so. I live just north of Circleville in a trailer park myself and it is not the busy, crowded atmosphere as a big city. In Circleville they offer transit service free to county residents for drs. etc. which is very nice. I used to live in Chillicothe but my husband didn't want to drive the distance to work, it is a very nice town with good people also. WELCOME to the great state of OHIO!! I used to live in Florida and moved back due to Santa in shorts and no pretty fall colors.
