It's Me again! After getting my wonderful news on Friday that I finally was going to get my approval, my good news continued today when I finally was able to choose an actual date! This of course has put things into perspective & now that reality has finally sunk in, so has a little fear & anxiety! Since the start of deciding that wls was the last resort to my unending weight gain, I have had my heart set on Dr. Maguire. To hear everyone of speak so wonderfully about him I just knew that he had to be the right one for me. After attending the info session & asking my long list of questions, I knew he was right! I had a calm about me & I just felt like everything would be okay & that there was no place else that I needed to look. Well, since getting the green light, I just want to get this going but Dr. Maguire is booked until the first of the year...at which time, I will have to meet my deductible again. When talking with Valerie today, Dr. Hadley was open right after Christmas which would work out the best for me for a few reasons. I also feel that I would still be in the best possible hands & trust that Dr. Hadley is just as wonderful as Dr. Maguire but I just need to hear it from people's own experiences. For those who have had the D/S with Dr. Hadley, can you tell me about your experience? Any complications? Does anyone know how many switches that Dr. Hadley has performed, although I know that she has been with Dr. Maguire for 6 years I believe? Has she had any deaths? I feel like I should just be happy that everything seems to be working out, it's just that I never really let myself think that this was going to happen for me & now that it is, fear, anxiety & excitement have set in all at once! Thank you to all who can help! Jen

Hi Jen, I feel you are in great hands! I just had lap. rny with Dr. Hadley on Oct. 6, and I am doing good. I did come down with pneumonia in the left lower lung and sent me back in the hospital. I was only home for about one day. I did all my walking as a matter of fact I walked my ten laps the first night and felt great! Believe me I don't blame her at all for that complication!! None of us know how that happened. I too had my mind set on Dr. Maguire until the informational meeting and I really liked how Dr. Hadley answered my questions. I know that Dr. Hadley and Dr. Maguire work hand in hand, he may even be the one to assist her on your surgery. They always work in pairs. I don't know if she has had any deaths but the office staff will be very open with you about this question, so call them it may help to relax your mind! The only thing I am not to happy with is that she is always in a hurry! Which you will see why when you go to the office and see how many patients they all have. Now I am not saying that if you have questions she rushes through them you just have to go in ready with all of your questions. I really like her and didn't worry about a thing. If you have other questions e mail me and I will try to answer them. God Bless, Mary p. 10/6/04 263/243

Hi, Jen! I'm having lap rny performed by Dr. Hadley on Nov 5. I met her this week, and I was very impressed--she is young, dynamic, positive, and really gave me confidence in her abilities. My PCP attended med school with her and recommended her highly. I don't think you can go wrong with any one of the doctors at the New Life Surgery practice. They assist one another on surgeries and consult with one another constantly. If you'd like to follow my progress, please email me and I'll fill you in on what happens. Many best wishes, Bunny
