My incinsion is doing fine. I am SOOO weak, and tired. I can barely take a shower. On Tuesday I will start full liquid diet and vitamins. I could sleep 20 hours. I started and anti depressant today. If I had energy this would be a little better. Please tell me its going to get better. My WLS buddy Monica was so helpful today!

Hi Julie! Yes sweetie it will get better! Promise. I felt the same way after surgery. I swear I cried everyday for two weeks solid because I just felt like crap. Sleepy, no energy, etc. I was asking everybody I knew that had surgery the same thing. Just keep in mind, you are barely getting enough calories in to survive right now. Your body is starving and it has to learn how to start burning the fat to live. So, get what you can in, schedule your meals, literally. Every two hours put something in, and don't forget to sip on your liquids. It is extremely important to get the fluids in too. So, take your naps, get your rest. When you are up and feel like moving, move around some to keep your blood pumping and fill your lungs with air. But give your body time to adjust and heal. This is MAJOR surgery and you have to heal. Along with that you still have the anesthesia in your system. That has to work it's way out too, so you are gonna be tired! Hang in, it will get better. Round about 4 weeks give or take it will start picking up then, watch out!! Next thing you know you will have to learn how to keep up with your energy levels! I actually became domestic when mine came back! I actually zoomed around this house like a crazy woman! Hang in there! Val You will be jumping soon!!!

Hi Julie, Valerie hit it right. It does get better. It will happen soon. After your body gets the chance to heal you will start to feel better. Then as you start to really lose weight and you get healthier, energy hits like an explosion. You feel so much better and you get back to normal living. Right now it is all about getting in the protein and the fluids. I remember feeling like my whole life revolved around my diet. That gets better too. Hang in there. You will feel better. How far out are you and how much weight have you lost? Thinking positive thoughts for you and hoping that you start to feel better. Deb

julie- you are barely out of surgery,hon....be easy on yourself and listen to what valerie and deb both said--rest and take it easy- walk when you can - sip and sip some more-- with the losing of fat your body stirs up every hormone ever stored in your body! it is very common to be weepy or not in a super friendly mood- it is best taht you rest while you can and start yourself some good habits as to scheduling your mini meals- even if they are just liquids at this point! it WILL get better!!!!!
