Protein Shake Help...
Hello All,
I'm getting all of my ducks in a row for surgery around the first of the year. I was wondering if you would share your experiences with which protein shakes worked well for you.
I'm looking for something in a powder form that I can mix with milk and sip on all day long (I have a frig at work).
Thanks,
Eric
I personally love French Vanilla CarboRite mix, it has 24 gms protein and it is SF. carbolitedirect.com
I have not had my surgery yet either, But I have been drinking this for 2 weeks. It actually taste like vanilla shake. You mix with water and shake, I always add ice with mine... IT is soooooooooooooo good.

Hi Eric,
You have to watch the protein shakes -- they're kind of tricky. Many of them are made with whey concentrate, which will not hold up for more than about a half hour. If they're made out of whey isolate, you should be able to drink off of them the whole day.
One thing to keep in mind is that your tastes and your tolerance for the different protein shakes will change between pre-surgery and post-surgery. I did the same as you and tried a bunch, stocked up on the ones I liked for after surgery, but then after surgery couldn't tolerate the taste of any of them. I'm 2 months out now and just beginning to be able to tolerate the shakes that I liked before I had the surgery.
Hi Eric!!
I personally enjoy Slimfast Low Carb Drinks. They are very low in sugar and have 20g of Protein per can. You can take them with you. They are very tasty, in my opinion. Make sure you buy the Low Carb ones because the other ones are very high in sugar. I like Creamy Chocolate and Vanilla.

hijack...Hey Tara how have you been? It has been almost 2 months since my surgery and i am now down 65lbs and counting. Some foods I cannot tolerate and I still have my foaming at the mouth.. I do not do any protein shakes as they have all made me gag so maybe I will try the slim fast you suggested. Let me know how you are doing. Take care!
