Ok all, I know myself and alot others are gearing up for surgery, I am sure we would appreciate any suggestions or information that would make our hospital stay easier. Would you all give us some pointers? It would be greatly appreciated. God Bless and have a nice weekend Jackie C

Don't take a bunch of stuff! The hospitals usually have just about everything you might need. Number one on the list would be lip balm - Chapstick, Blistex - whatever you like. Number two would be slip-on, non-slip house slippers. You have to walk, so get something easy to put on. I took minimal cosmetics and toiletries, wore hospital gowns. Leave jewelry and valuable items at home. I was only there two days. I did take my driver's license (picture ID) and insurance card, but sent them home with my huband after I was checked in the day of surgery. Dont' take craft-y stuff to do, or lots of books and magazines. My attention span was not very long, since I was on pain medication. Good luck! Sue

Slippers are a good idea and maybe even a robe if you have one since they like to have you up and walking after surgery. I would not bother with much reading material b/c like the other gal mentioned you are kinda zoned out from the pain medicine. The hospital will give you toiletries to use. Bring clean socks and underwear and some loose clothing to wear home. Any valuables leave at home and most of all GOOD LUCK! Karie
