I am curious what supplements everyone takes. Can you share what your daily dosing looks like? how they taste? What they cost you per month? I would like to plan ahead and have them on hand so that I have no excuses for not taking them! Thanks. ~~Hugs, ~~Jaimee

Hi Jaimee I think I am going to go with vitamist. It is a spray vitamin that is easy to use.. NO PILLS It comes also in a B-12, I have been using the multivitamin and it is good. 2sprays to inside of jaw 2 times a day, and thats it. Quite easy.. They come in all sorts.. If you need infor,, talk to Sandy Pierce @ imnotfatanymore.com.. She will lead you in the right direction. Good luck on your upcoming surgery Jackie C.

Hi Jaimee, I am going with the vitamins and supplements that my endocrinologist told me I would need. I took the list to my PCP. She told me that Medicaid would cover all of them and wrote me prescriptions for the whole list. I agree with Margo. Ask your surgeon; and then take the list to your PCP. Becky D.

Jaimee, I looked at your profile. You have been going through this for some time now. What exactly did you have to go through to get approved and why were you denied. I guess I am looking for a little glimmer of hope. Good Luck with your journey. Thanks, Marlo

Marlo, I never actually was denied. They simply requested more evidence of non-surgial attempts at weight loss. Our policy with MMOH is a PPO which may be different than what you have. Each policy has its own guidelines. My recommendation to you is to ask for a case manager when you submit your appeal. That way you are always talking to the same person at the insurance company. Document everything. You need to be very thorough. I had to jump through a lot of hoops, but eventually they approved me. Best of luck to you on your own journey. ~~Jaimee

I'm sorry. They have asked me for more info, as well as stating I was denied. I have a case worker at st vincent but I will call the insurance co and ask for one there. Thanks, Marlo

Have you had classes or a consult with your dietician yet? The dietician or doctor will tell you what they want you to take. For me, the first two months was Flintstones chewables. I recently go off of those (yeah!) and am now on a prenatal vitamin. Good luck!
