sunday-dinner?and other ????
i'll start by saying- where the heck is everyone??? this board has been very quiet for a very long time.....
hubby made a big pot of chili for tonite- yum!!! i'm watching the wind blow and the lil red squirrel at the base of the tree--not sure what he is nibbling but easy to see he is stocking up! do you find that you feel the need -posties--in your head to stock up for winter? to keep the body satisfied to stave off the hungries and the cold??? i'm working to unlearn that behavior!!!!
speaking of cold- i'm struggling with the sniffles and i think it's more than allergies- last nite i laid an extra heavy comforter on top of the three layers already on our bed....bbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...is anyone else having a tuff time with the cold weather setting in????? i saw an ad for flannel jammies and think i may go stock up on those!!! these flannel nightgowns let in too much draft! hehe
i had tried to post to an msn board today- long wordy friendly post to some of my peeps and i got knocked offline- so---and i'm too lazy to type the whole thing over again!!!!!
a happy sunday to you all and i am hoping for a great week for us all....prayers going out to those waiting approval and those having surgery coming soon....can't wait to see PJ back on here!
***vickie!*** keep your faith and don't give up the fight!!!!!***
***deb-don't forget those papers for me???***
hugs to you all......
Hi Margo how are you doing ,
I have noticed a huge difference in my grocery bill I bought a 2 lb pack of ground chuck and that normally would last 2 meals well I broke it down to four packs and froze it and now I have left overs (not sure but I was told many people don't handle re heated stuff well but I do not use a microwave and done well)as for being cold I always had hot hands and feet I now find myself wanting a pair of gloves in OCT.?????? I usually want them in december and I am only a few weeks out.the chili sounds good but I can not make a chili my kids can eat I can not tell when it is too hot so I usually burn their mouths with the spices ( love hot stuff ) I hope your day goes well as well as everyones
take care all
Love
NIKKI
Hi Margo,
The chili sounds yummy. I have recently gotten addicted to Wendy's chili for lunch! I am hoping I will tolerate it well post-op. It is certainly getting chilly out this past few weeks.
I am making ham tomorrow night and then I will use the leftovers to make split-pea soup. I have a recipe I just adore and it is so good on a cold day. There I go with the soups again. (oh well, should make the liquid diet go easier LOL!)
It is good to hear PJ will be back again. She is missed.
I am here! HEY!! WHASSUP???
Oh man, that cold thing...I swear it is a wls surgery thing. I freeze all the time! Even in the summer. Earl *my hubby* has always been a "warm" person, and since he's had his surgery, the man who used to freeze me out, is now freezing himself! We have lost our insulation...NOT COMPLAINING THO!!! I have a comforter, a crocheted blanket (hand made very nice) and a space heater in my room, along with the thermal/flannel jammies...woo hoo ain't that sexy but hey...it's all about the warmth these days!
Chili is yummy yum yum!! But, I can't do the spicey thing...wimpy here!
We had a gorgeous day here. Sunny, crisp and just wonderful. I hope everyone else had a great day too! Makes a perfect way to end the weekend, refreshed to start a new week!
Cheers!
Valerie
hi there all!!!! i love the wendy's chili, its really not to spicey and there is alot of protein in it, so i'm told. i too can't handle real spicey foods. as for the cold thing- i froze my @ss off friday night and sat. i put my electic blanket on. they should be on sale if anyone wants to go buy one. they are real nice. the one i have is made for a queen or king size bed. there are heaters on both sides of the blanket. also if you don't turn it off in 10 hours it will automaticlly turn off. hope you all stay warm. i came home from work at 11:15 and its was only 31 degrees in akron!!!!!!!! have a good week!!! jennifer
