Hi, My husbnad, Michael has a appointment with you this next week.. oct. 22nd. Today I was left a message from his primary dr. office stating... that they had contacted our insurance company and they will not pay for him to see you because there are many surgeons in our area that do this type of surgery. I have call MANY of them and due to his past surgery on his stomach all that I have talked to will not see him. It was too late for me to call our insurance company today. What should I do next??? Is there anyway around getting for our insurance to pay for him to see you?? Funny, they were going to cover it when he was going to have it in columbus. Any suggestions would be welcomed!! Thanks for your time. Cindy

Cindy, That sounds a little wierd to me, I have never heard of an insurance company not paying for a surgeon who was out of their city but within the same state. It's true that if I'm out of network and there are in-network surgeons nearby, they will want to you to see somebody in the network. I wouldn't take it for fact without talking directly to your insurance company. Good luck, Dr. C The Deaconess Surgical Weight Loss Center Cincinnati, Ohio (513) 559-2545
