Ok, Im 2 weeks out. With antibiotics and stuff, nothing tastest right, except milk. but when I drink it I get very gassy. This happen to anyone else? I hate the hospital, I hate being home. Without side rails, I cannot even get out of bed on my own. The good news is, 2 weeks post op, and within the last month I have lost 50lbs! Why did I have to loose it from padding on my bum? It hurts from being in a hospital bed for almost 2 weeks (my incision got infected, back to the hospital I went). I had to order a new recliner, didnt realize how bad shape mine was and how low it sat. Other than that, Im about to go back to sleep. night folks! Darrell

Hang in there Darrell, it will get better! The beginning is rough, but you will look back one day and realize that it is all worth it! After surgery due to your lack of intestine for digestion, a great deal of people become lactose intolerant. Hence, the gas. I had a lot of cramping, gas, bloating, etc. with milk for a long time after surgery and really avoided a lot of it. Now, it doesn't seem to bother me at all, but I do drink the Hood Carb Countdown milk instead of regular milk. That icky taste sensation will go away. That's actually a good sign that things are kicking in, you will have that, and most likely wretched breath for about 2 to 3 months. As for your bum, I know it probably hurts, but try to lay on your side as much as possible and move move move...walk as much as you can to be up off it, and get that circulation flowing! This isn't easy, it is hard, very hard, but you know, you will get through this. We will help you! Great job on the 50 pounds! You are well on your way already! Darrell, Congrats on the 50 lbs. I am lactose intolerant now myself. I take a lactaid chewable before having milk or cheese. It helps me a lot. I can relate about the bum. I don't have a behind since losing my weight, so a lot of time in bed is very painful to me. Hang in there. It's going to get better. Thanks for stopping by to see PJ, she enjoyed that. Sandy

Hey Darrell, Awesome weight loss !!! I have a suggestion for your recliner if it's too low. .. put it up on blocks or have someone make a platform for it. I was having a awful time getting up out of my recliner due to bad knees.. it would just kill me. So I asked my father to make a platform for it so it would sit up another 4 inches. WHAT a relief it is now... to get up !! Good Luck with your "journey" and each day you'll feel alittle better then the day before !! Cindy

Milk I will miss, and per the fake milk, I cannot take it, they taste terrible! I am working on V8 now, and drinking it. At least it is more healthy and giving me my veggies! I am still looking for things to drink. I used to love orange, not any more. Fruit 2o and Propel are out, as well as plain water. but whatever I do drink, it must be near ice cold or I dont want it.
