Almost time for surgey  slowly but surely:deal:
Hi Steve,
I can't help you with your endocronolgist appointment, but I did want to say HI and wish you good luck with your upcoming surgery. What type of surgery are you having? You may have better luck getting a responce if you post on the main board (you can find that board at the top of this page and it's call "message board"). Is your surgery scheduled yet? Keep posting and asking questions... there is bound to be someone that will have a answer for you!!
Cindy
Hi Steve,
Where are you going to the endocrinologist? I can only speak from my own experience. I am going to the Cleveland Clinic. The endocrinologist was the first step. The very first thing I did was get weighed and measured. I talked to a nurse first. She asked me about my history with weight loss attempts. She asked me questions about my secondary weight issues; what medications I'm on. She asked me what my weight loss goals are.
The doctor came in and went over the things that the nurse had asked me. He told me that I was indeed a candidate for the surgery. He told me that I have to meet with the nutritionist at least 3 times She will teach you about the surgery and show you how to get ready for it. She helps you learn to eat again properly after the surgery. You have to meet with the psychologist for psychological evaluation beore I see Him again so he can recommend me for an appointment with the surgeon.
I was told the whole process will probably take 6 months to a year. I had my first appointment with the endocrinologist June 30, 2004. I have met all of the requirements and will meet with him again November 5. He will then schedule me to meet the surgeon. All in all nothing I've had to do so far has been painful.
Good Luck and God Bless You. Becky Dombrosky
