I can't do this anymore.
I look at this site every night at work. I see all the people that have lost weight and I just want to be one of them. I want to be healthy and look good. I was denied on my first letter form medical mutual and in the process for appealing. Something is telling me that I will not get approved. I am getting so depressed over it. I made an apt with a dietician at work and have decided to try and do it on my own. I am not giving up yet on the surgery. I just need support right now.
Thanks Everyone!

hi Marlo,
Don't give up! I have had a very difficult time also, and many days feel like "what's the use!!??" I was told by one central Ohio WLS place that I would not be approved... they would not even SUBMIT for me... I then drove over 2 hours to another doc... (a very positive & encouraging experience at his office!) I had them submit to my insurance... I haven't heard a thing yet... most likley I will have a denial... but I've hard if you keep at it, a lot of the insuracne providers will come around!
I just wish the employers & insurance co's would realize what a godsend WLS is in the long run....
hang in there!

Hey Marlo,
Hang in there! There are tons of catchy phrases and cliche's which I am sure you've heard them all! (so I won't bore you with them). But I will say hang in there. This is a tough battle. For some of us, tougher than others. It will be worth the fight. Keep your faith. Don't give up. Just know that we are here with you fighting the good fight. There are lots of prayers and positive thoughts flowing here!!
Don't give up on the surgery, and do keep working on your weight. Going to a dietician is good, that shows them you are willing to work at it. I know my insurance company wanted to see if we could be dedicated to finish a diet program, that way they knew we would work hard at making the surgery successful. Also, any weight you can lose prior to having surgery is a bonus for your body.
Stay with us, keep us posted on your progress. Find a support group and keep yourself surrounded by supportive people.
Take care, good luck and God bless!!
Valerie
