Just wondering - having a hard time getting liquids down - not vomiting, just seem to get full. I'm 3 days post op from LapBand and getting about 10 - 12 oz of liquids down per day so far. Feel pretty good just feel that knot in my chest if I drink very much. I am sipping water, Isopur and sucking ice chips - not really hungry. How long can I go like this before I have to worry about dehyrdation - I only have one kidney. Thanks. Paula L.

Paula, You're supposed to get 64 oz / day but in reality you can probably get by with much less. The best thing to do is to keep a water bottle handy and take a very small sip every few minutes. Like Cindy said, you ice chip and popsicle intake counts as water too. Good luck, Dr. C The Deaconess Surgical Weight Loss Center Cincinnati, Ohio (513) 559-2545
