Medical Mutual Denial

Well just an update. In order for those reports from the weight loss clinic to be considered valid I had to have her name stamped on every page. I also had to include her business card which had "Weight Loss Clinic" written on it. Medical Mutual told me my claim has been sent to an outside source for review. I also notified the State Department of Insurance, they have already sent a letter to Medical Mutual questioning their approval process. Just a heads up if your claim was denied for any other reason than Medical Necessity, you can file a complaint and they will investigate. There is also a company called Maximus CHDR, check the web. They handle appeals once the state has made a decision. Everyone has been wonderful. Alright everybody "Group Hug"

could you please email me and let me know how to contact the state ins. board? I too was denied from med mutual , due to not enough non surgical attempts. I have a bmi of 50.9, and diabetes,asthma,gerd,sleep apnea and high blood pressure. no reason at all that my surgery should be denied, but it was. i have sent an appeal this past week, but dont hold much faith in it. any help from you would be great. good luck fighting tyhe fight too. stick together and we'll get em! Thanks for the info, my sister was turned down by them just last month and has basically given up. We had such high hopes since they approved mine two years ago and the results are great. Good Luck

i ALSO HAD mEDICAL mUTUAL, BUT THEY PAID FOR MY SURGERY AFTER TWO DENILES. Don't stop trying, they will try to deny but fight it. Richard
