Boy what a sad support group
RE: Some Seasonial info. for holiday fun but not in the sun.
daniel--i cannot believe that you have posted this--what about rules for the boards- don't be surprised if this is pulled by a moderator....
So it is a crime to announce some holiday events, to encourage people who has gone thru alot to get encouraetthem to set their mind onto something possiably fun, and to get their life back into living again. I thought this was a board to support people and to encourage them to live again. All I see is on the board is alot of confuse desperate people and are being guided by unprofessional comments and suggestions. I am 2 weeks post op and I had some rough times but I try to encourage myself & others that the holidays is coming up and for allot of us fat asses who been messed up for years now is learning to live a normal life so I COMMITED A CRIME OF A posting of a FUN EVENT FOR PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF AND OTHERS TO GET OUT AND LIVE AGAIN. In the past I could not fit in line or go thru haunted houses I'm not here to sell anything and for a support group I am very upset. What is wrong with telling other members about some holiday fun.

I was just announcing a fun event for people like myself and others to get back into living, to get out and live. Am I pulling business away from your group.
You should be more concern and worry about Hippa issues and rumors on this sight... So trashing of the Doctors, and the dietitians who made this possible for us is ok to do on this site.
I recommended this sight to everyone and now you open my eyes.
I never saw a site like this that allows any unprofessional unskilled people to give some serious advice...
Well Obesityhelp.com you may need to look at ur rules and revise them.
Sorry fellow members for advertising a fun event, With allot of these false rumors that go on in this site is aloud.
Margo I did not need this from you and did not need to get upset.
THIS IS VERY SAD.. ND my POST WILL BE SEEN AT OTHER SIGHTS
AND MARGO I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THIS.
THANK YOU FOR AN EYE OPENER.

Daniel,
I don't want to get in the middle of anything here but I, for one, don't see a problem with what you posted. I LOVE haunted houses-always have and always will. I don't see what the big deal is with what you posted unless its against the rules to specifically name the place, etc., which would appear to be advertising? But, still, I don't see the big deal nor why anyone would jump you about that.
Maybe I'm blind but I really can't see the problem with what you have done.
Beth
Daniel, I am new to this website. I have read your profile and support letters, and it seems that you have received a lot of love and support and have been treated very kindly by your fellow members. We all have weak moments, especially when we are not feeling well, but ... it sounds like you were lashing out. An apology may be in order.
As for "HIPPA" issues (by the way, it is "HIPAA"), do we not disclose our medical issues in our own postings? The HIPAA law does not require that the patient must keep their medical conditions a secret; it only mandates that other people, like healthcare providers, are not allowed to reveal a patient's identifiable confidential information. And the opinions about doctors and other healthcare providers are just that - opinions (and clearly identified as such).
This WLS journey is very scarey and I, for one, feel very alone, except for my daily scanning of everyone's posts. You guys are the only ones I know, who are going through the same thing. Who else can I turn to for knowledgeable support?? For the most part, everyone keeps it upbeat and real.
I personally don't care about the haunted house thing but don't object to notices like this unless they start to fill up the website.
Come on, fella.
I think that's what the rules are for. So, there aren't a million advertisements filling up the board. If it's okay for one, then it would be okay for all. If you truly wanted people to know about the haunted house, all you had to do is say that you had info about it, and anyone interested could email you. It did seem like you were advertising, because of the way it was worded.
