Back to Work!?
I start back to work next week. I'm scared! I love my job, but it is very demanding and stressful. For the last couple of weeks I've been trying to get an eating plan prepared for while I'm at work. I'm worried that being back on the job will trigger stress eating, which I had issues with prior to surgery. Any ideas?
Diana,
I too struggle with the same problem. I personnally am going to pack my lunches with the foods that I am allowed to eat and stay away from the cafeteria in the building. I have bought containers that are ziploc brand that are just a 1/2 cup in size and are perfect.
Keep strong and just remember where you came from and where you are headed.

Hi Diana, I'm back to work Monday 9-27. My job is stressful too. The hours are 5AM-1:30PM. They cut out overtime ( I have made as much as 10 thousand in a year in overtime) and laid off people, so I'll have to do more work for less money and there will be fewer people there to help. I don't know how I'm going to time the drinking of water and meals, etc. I guess I will just take several bottles of water to sip on all day and a protein shake for lunch, at least until I get re-acclimated. I could take some fruit or a protein bar for a snack and hope that I don't run home at 1:30 and have an attack of stress eating. In any case, I won't be able to really pig out on anything and I don't keep a lot of junk food in my house, so I think I will be OK. Instead of eating when I get home, I could do my exercise and put off my desire to eat until my regular dinner time. I was successful with my pre-op diet, so I know the low-cal, low-fat, low-carb things to eat if I must put something in my mouth before dinner time....
I am also concerned about the physical expectations people may have for me. I have been exercising, and I feel fine, but I hope I make it through the entire day. I hope starting back to work will knock some more pounds off of me! LOL Good Luck! Alice
