Will be 3 wks post op tomorrow. Today, I have felt very weak, and sleepy. Is this normal. I did get my 1/2 mile walk in this morning, but that's about it.

Hi Kelly, I think if it was a one day thing, it is probably ok. I am not a doctor and am not giving advice. You are still healing and the body is getting better. If you keep feeling this way, call your doctor. How are you doing with your eating? Are you able to get in your protein and water? Hope tomorrow is better.

Hi Kelly, I felt some weakness and needed to rest/nap into my 4th week. I started singing with the church choir one Sunday and that was all I could do that day. Just the getting up early and getting dressed up and the work it takes to sing really tired me out. The Choir had a picnic that afternoon and I couldn't go. I took a nap while I ran diagnostics and utilities on my computer instead of going to the picnic. I was much better the next week and I seem fine this week. I was getting all my protein, water and vitamins and I was walking a mile daily, but I guess I just over did it a few times early out from surgery. It is funny I had lost 22 pounds at 4 weeks out, but carrying a gallon of distilled water upstairs for my CPAP machine was difficult. What does a gallon of water weigh? 3 pounds max? As long as you aren't real tired all the time and you are getting all your vitamins, water and protein in and you can exercise, you are probably OK, but let your doctor know about your fatigue. It takes energy to heal and you are still healing. I know I'm not 100% yet and I am a few weeks ahead of you, but each day gets better. Things go better when your diet is advanced and you get more nutrition from real food, too. Good Luck! Alice
