lap band pricing

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been lobbying the hospital to reduce the price on our lap bands and they have agreed. Our new price is $13,000 and this includes your pre-op bloodwork, surgery fee, anesthesia fee, hospital stay, and fills for one year. I would be interested to know what other patients have paid, and whether or not they have to pay for their fills or not. Thats great Dr.Curry. I still hope Eric can get some of this paid and I will pay the rest. If it works out for him he would like maybe the end of October. He can only take off around 10 days is that enough. He is always on light duty haha. Mariemont. Cindy

Dr Curry, This is an *excellent* fee! My surgery was : 10K for two surgeons (they team up for every surgery) Just over 14K for the hospital 1,200 for anesthesia The bloodwork, venous doppler, etc was about $1,500 After all is said and done, my insurance paid about 11K of it and out of pocket was 2,000 so they only got about half of what they charged. The fills my surgeon is charging in office is $150. He does the first fill for free, however, the hospital has been charging $700-$1200 for the fluoro. I made it clear that is way overpriced and told my surgeon about a surgeon in Chicago that charges $300 for a fill with fluoro. They are in the process of trying to find out why the hospital is charging so much.

Don't be sad, we didn't drop the price on the RNY, it's already at rock-bottom. Just the band. Dr. C
