Is it normal to be able to drink and drink and never feel full. I can drink an entire bottle of snapple in 15-20 minutes and never feel full. The same with soups etc. I started pureed foods today. Still not having a full feeling. I'm afraid this surgery isn't going to work. Any ideas??? Exactly what does this new full feeling feel like? Any tips from you "losers" would be wonderful.
For several days after my surgery, I didn't feel full and I was worried just like you, concerned that I'd never be full or be able to tell when I was full. Then, maybe a week or so post surgery, all of a sudden I could really tell when my pouch was full. It's a very strong pressure in the pouch that sometimes can be very painful if you overdo it. It's nothing the doctor told me, but I've thought that at first maybe the nerve endings in my new stomach pouch weren't awake yet and maybe that's why I didn't feel full. Even though you don't feel full I'd caution to only ingest the amount of water/food your doctor recommended for your post surgery stage -- even if you're not full -- to prevent your new pouch from stretching. Take care!
