I have victory! (doin the victory dance)5 months of hard work is finally finished! I have been in charge of planning a silent auction at church. This is a huge fund raiser for an endowment fund that provides college scholarship money for seminary students. I haven't completely totaled up all of the numbers, I will be doing a bit of paperwork this week, but it looks like the auction made around $3,000. I have basically done nothing these past 4 days (and most of my free time in the last 5 months). Anyway, it felt pretty good to have brought in as much as we did. The icing on the cake was that two pieces of my artwork sold for a decent amount and so did some paper-piecing that I did as a part of a scrapbooking kit I made. I also came home with some nice items. Although my hubbie was mad at me for bidding on a printer (which I won). He doesn't have room to talk though. He bid on a wateercolor piece I did and we won so I basically paid for it twice and it is one that I can't really use anywhere in the house. Oh well, it is cute that he couldn't let it go. It shows that he has a sentimental streak. Anyway, the end result was worth not sleeping for 2 days. It was for a good cause. Just had to share. ~~Jaimee

Congrat's on the good results! Always feels good to make something good happen huh? I worked 3 yrs as PTO Pres, to get a playground built at my sons' school. $42,000 worth of work, and not just in bake sales..lol But, end result? Playground for all the children! hugs

Hi Jamiee, Off topic or not, it's a great accomplishment that I'm glad you shared! I think challenges and rewards such as this help boost self esteem -- something that many of us with weight issues struggle with. Good job!
