Looking for Support in Boardman-Youngstown area
Hi, My name is Becky Dombrosky and I am starting on the process of WLS. I am going to the Cleveland Clinic. The nutritionist (Celeste) told me to look for a local support group. She suggested that I check out this web site. I started out at 500lbs. With the help of the diet the doctor at CC gave me and walking every day; I am down to 433. The nutrionist told me I have to lose 22 more pounds before we can meet the surgeon. I meet the psychologist on the 27th of this month. I hope things go well and that I can have the surgery before summer.

Becky,
Congratulations on losing that kind of weight. We are all here to support you sweetie. Unfortunately, my Support Group Meetings are in Cincinnati. Just a little bit too far for you to drive. I am though, recommending my WLS Website You will meet lots of Ohio folks in there. Let me know if you need my help.
Love,

Sandy, Thank You for the reply. I appreciate the support. If I can't find a local support group this can be the next best thing. It is good to talk to (even through the internet) other people who have been through what I still have to look forward to. I have been thinking about this and researching and praying about it for three years. I am glad that I am on the way. I know that it is ONLY with the help of God and my church family that I have gotten this far. Yes, I will look up your website but I won't be able to do it until after church today. Thanks Again
Becky

Hi Becky,
My name is Patty and i live in Lisbon, about 30 minutes from Boardman. I had WLS on July 19th and it was done in Pittsburgh. I have no support group, just a few people i talk to already online that were in the process of getting surgery and recently accomplished that. I would like to offer my friendship to you though, everyone needs someone to talk too when things get rough (and they can before and after surgery)..I know St. E has a supposrt group but i don't know if it is strictly for their patients or not.....I have a friend who lives in Boardman who just had surgery 3 weeks ago there and she is doing great. I will ask Christina and see if it is open to anyone. If not, internet is the best option as we all support each other. If ya want a friend to chat with about your upcoming surgery, and afterwards....I am here for ya.....just email me at [email protected]
