Bruising around staples??

I have around 3 huge bruises which will be getting more colorful soon and feel a bit more hurt in that area. Is this normal? Thanks all! Doreen

Yes, it is completely normal. You had a large amount of tissue cut through, plus you most likely got either heparin or lovenox shots for prevention of clots, so your belly has been through a lot and bruising is completely expected. Mine wasn't bad, but my hubby's looked like he had been in a car wreck he was so bruised!
