Poll: question of the day
Hello Everybody. I trust you are all having a good weekend. I have been working on all of my to-dos. The list is getting shorter! HURRAY! I plan on grilling out tonight. What do you plan to make for dinner? In yesterday's question Heather M. responded by sharing that she went to the fair so I thought it would be fun to find out what everybodys favorite thing is about the fair. Also,if there is a good childhood memory you have about it?
My favorite thing is actually seeing the piggies! (well, and the food too! SUPRISE SUPRISE) In high school I was in FFA and I raised pigs. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. My best memories are of hanging out in the barns on the tack boxes giggling with my friends. My first year this guy named Steve asked me if I wanted a wheelbarrel ride and I thought it sounded like a fun thing to do. Little did I know he was going to dump me in the corrall out behind the barn where they dumped all the YUCKY hay and Poop. I was so mad at him. But I laugh at it now. This was how all of the new kids were initiated into the group. Farm Hazing I guess you'd call it.
Okay, your turn!
Hugs,
Jaimee
i was a "suburban" kid so i didn't do fairs til way later-and i don't get as excited as others do--my current hubby was a dairy farmer in his younger days and works in ag now so i am learning stuff--i do enjoy seeing the people but i don't get excited baout the animals other than the "aw" factor of the babies!
i do enjoy going to local little community festivals- particularly apple festivals and stuff as i love fall...now i just can't eat those huge apple fritters!
i do have very fond memories of going to the three ring circus as a youngster with my gramma--under the tents--and i remember watching the elephants raise the tents---don't know if that counts and sure isn't as exciting as your wheel barrow ride!!!!
I love to dip potato chips in vinegar. Now you have me craving them. BAD BAD Miss Nikki you gonna blow my diet. LOL!!!! Just kidding. I will eat a pork rind with some vinegar if I get desperate. Ha ha. Are you getting butterflies in your tummy dear? You day is creeping up on you. I am so glad it worked out for you.
Hugs,
Jaimee
Ha. I always admired the cute boys too. From a distance, of course, I was very shy and didn't date until I met Aaron. I do remember getting the Wet and Wild makeup out and gooing lipgloss on until it was practically dripping off of my lips. I also stuck one of those giant dorky bows that were made popular by Madonna, on top of my head (I was an 80's child). I ususally went with my cousin. We would strut our way down the fairway and think we were hot stuff. Tee hee hee.
