Questions about the WISH CENTER

I read below something about 1800 for 2 yr aftercare. What is that all about??? Also do they perform the surgery in their own facilities or are they performed at Middletown Hospital? My insurance covers the doctors, and Middletown Hospital, but does not cover anything called the "wish center.

I am currently in the wish center's program. they do all of their surgeries at Middletown Hospital, who build a whole new floor designated for wls! As for the support charge, I was told that you can pay monthly on that but a lot of insurances cover that also. You can email me if you want to talk about any of it. Jill Neace

$1800 for 2 years of follow-up? You've got to be kidding me...they'd better wash your car and clean your house weekly for that!

Hi...I do not know any thing about the Wish Center But I had my surgery with Dr Fallang in Dayton at The Surgical Weight Loss Center. He came to Dayton from Middletown. They also have one floor just for WLS. There are no charges for aftercare. [email protected] Anna L Archer

Beverly I am currently going through the wish center. I have my preop on September 14 and surgery the last of the month. Lap banding. The paperwork I have states that fee is lifetime support of dietician, exercise physiologist and psychologist. I know that is a bit steep but that is one of their requirements..

Beverly, Jewish WL center in Cincinnati also charges for after care, which of course, is not covered by insurance and needs to be paid up front. They also make their patients go through the 'medically based program' for a minimum of 6 weeks prior and 4 weeks post. Funny thing about the 'medically based program' . . . It's a liquid diet and surprise, surprise, is not covered by insurance either. Sounds like some of the sugeons are taking advantage of us and our predicament. -V
