Congratulations to you both and I hope all goes well. I worked with open heart surgery patients for many years. Back in the Stone Age, the surgical patients came into the hospital 1-2 days before surgery. We nurses had time to actually talk to patients, and the ones I worried about the most were the ones that said they weren't afraid of surgery! (What! Someone is going to take your life into their hands, open your chest and cut and sew around or in your heart and you aren't scared???) Nevertheless, I think people who have some fear are absolutely normal and rational human beings *****alize that, in this case, WLS is still a risk, and are dealing with it. Even I got a little panicky and worried the morning of surgery when we pulled into the hospital garage. But that passed - especially when they start giving you the "good" drugs! I will be thinking of you on 9/1! All the best! Sue
