any info for me would be appreciated!!

i dont know if anyone has had a surgery with dr stellato at uhhs, but i just had my first appointment with him and he didn't seem like he had a great bedside manner, has anyone had any luck with him, because i'm not enthused after my appointment.........help please, thanks...jess

hi jessica-i lived in lorain for 30 years!! um....research!-go on here and check him out --there is a place to look up docs--- if you were not pleased with his bedside manner--what do you think of his knowledge and skills--if that would outweigh the bedside manner then go with him--if not-keep looking!does he have a nutrition follow up program? are you going to be a number to him??? i am not familiar with that doc at all- but nor with the group at st vincent's in cleveland--whether or not they take medicaid? my own pcp (richard white at Tri city in amherst) had recommended i go there but i chose barix in groveport-i don't think that they take medicaid dr curry in cincy does i think and many on here rave about him and his staff--i know it's a drive but if you are not happy with surgeon and aftercare program you need to shop around!!!! this is your life in their hands ,gf!!!! good luck to you whatever you choose..... email if you'd like---i am still very familiar with the area margo

OK JESS LET ME TELL YOU!!!!!!DR.STELLATO IS ONE OF THE BEST SURGEONS IN OHIO,HE IS VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD,AND MAY SEEM A LITTLE HARSH BUT THAT IS JUST HIS WAY,MY PRIMARY SURGEON IS PART OF THE BARIATRIC PROGRAM AT UH,HIS NAME IS DR.JASPER,AND MORE THAN LIKELY DR.STELLATO WILL ASSIST WITH MY SURGERY,I HAD MY THIRD APPT. WITH HIM WENSDAY,AND IT WENT VERY WELL,BUT I PROMISE YOU THAT ABOUT EVERYONE I HAVE TALKED TO THAT WAS DR.STELLATO PATIENT SAID THAT THEY LOVED HIM FOR HIM BEING THE WAY HE IS,HAVE YOU BEEN TO A SUPPORT GROUP MEETING,IF NOT THEY, HAVE THEM EVERY FIRST MONDAY OF EACH MONTH I THINK,CALL NICOLE,SHE CAN GIVE YOU THE ACTUAL DATE OF THEM.AT THE MEETINGS ALL THE DOCS ARE THERE ALONG WITH POST-OPS AND PRE-OPS,DR.STELLATO WAS ON ONE OF THOES TV NEWS SPECIAL,IM NOT SURE WHICH ONE TALKING ABOUT THE SURGERY AND THINGS LIKE THAT,I HOPE THEY WOULD NOT HAVE SOMEONE ON TV TALKING ABOUT A SURGERY THAT THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT,THEY INVITED HIM!!!!BECAUSE THEY KNOW HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING.YOU HAVE PICKED A VERY GOOD SURGEON,I HOPE I HAVE MADE YOU FEEL BETTER,BUT IF NOT,DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS BEST FOR YOU,AND IF YOU NEED TO FIND ANOTHER DOC THAN PLEASE DO SO,YOU HAVE TO BE COMFORTALE WITH YOUR SUGEON,I WAS JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE PICKED ONE OF THE BEST. thanks guys, maybe I just expected him to make me feel a little more comfortable, but that is not his job, right? His job is to help me help myself lose weight.........thanks again for all the advice and wisdom, i think that i will give him a second chance---he wasnt really mean, but short, like you said.........j

well- he seems to be highly recommended ! like i said this morning i know nothing of him--so i am not dissing him.... many of the surgeons seem to not show "great bedside manner" at the initial mtg --but you are looking for someone with knowledge and skill...not a wise cracker or a smoothy....if you ask questions- do you feel comfortable with the answers??? and if you don't understand the answer do you rephrase the question???we all come into this with varying degrees of knowledge and experience and this is after all your body and your life--YOU must feel comfortable!!!!

Hi just wanted to say, OK NOW I FEEL OLD. YOU GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN 1997????????? Oh well, best of luck. My only advice is to feel comfortable with the person who is doing the surgery. Ask lots of questions and feel that you can put your life in his(her) hands, because you are. Don't be afraid to expect the best. You deserve it. Good luck on your journey.
