wauseon, delta, lyons, nearby???

i am really struggling here. i had open rny on 3/9/04 and have lost 113 pounds but still have a long way to go. between moving, getting married, and losing my job all within the past few years i have lost every single one of my friends. my husband is great, and my son is wonderful, but... i could use a little something more. just wondering if there's anyone in the area? god, i must seem pathetic... kym

Hi Kym, I had my lap rny on 3-10-04 so we are practically 'twins' in our new lives. I have also lost over 100 lbs since that date am unable to go to the support groups due to my work schedule. patti ---i would love to welcome you to the BariBuddies mtg on monday nite aug 30th- it will be ta 7 pm in the Bay room of St Charles hospital in oregon--the Bay room is on the 6th floor-directly off the elevator --- the hospital is almost directly off I280 south off south I75---the navarre street exit.if that exit is still closed you can get off at the very next exit and backtrack about a block... would really love to see you there! i'm a marcher too- 3/26--- what shift/schedule do you work??? we meet every other monday nite i welcome email margo

Margo, thanks for the response. I wor****il 8:00 pm on Monday, Tues, and Thursdays which is why I don't attend support groups. I have considered OA, but wondered if it would be appropriate. I appreciate the offer and may come if I have a day off. Thanks again. Patti

wow - we did have our surgeries really close together. i haven't gone to any support groups yet, although i would love to. i've just been in quite a funk lately. i may try to go to the one that margo mentioned on monday night. i'd love to keep in touch if you're interested. take care. kym

i am definitely going to try and make this one. my husband has been great - he's been a ton of help, but i'm starting to feel really isolated and alone. i think it would do me a world of good to get out and meet some people who've gone through some similar things. can you email me the name and address of the place so that i can look it up on mapquest? how long are the meetings? and, would my son be able to attend? he's 11. let me know. my email is [email protected] kym

kym...i welcome email as well- i know the feeling of not being connected where you live! no-you are not pathetic! you are to be congratulated for holding it together and going thru all of the stuff you have- moving and getting married - i did both w/in past two years--losing your job--i walked away from one 18 mos before i got my current one--i could not even seek employment until i got my wls--it was my head keeping me from getting a job.... chin up gf!!!!!!

Hi Kymber, I live not far from you. I am also going to the support group at St. Charles on Monday. I am a newer post op by one month. I have lost 60 lbs. so far. You sound like you would have a lot to contribute. Hope to see you there.

i think i'm going to try and go to it, too. i'm really starting to feel like i need to meet some people that i might have something in common with. maybe i'll see you there. kym -congrats on the weight loss!!
