SUPPORT GROUP BEFORE WLS?

I AM GOING TO BE GOING TO ST VINCENT FOR MY SURGERY IT WILL MOSTLIKELY BE DEC OR JAN 05 BECAUSE I JUST FOUND OUT I HAVE TO DO 3 MONTHS WITH A NUTRITIONIST. BUT WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS THERE SUPPORT GROUPS TO GO TO BEFORE THE SURGERY TO KEEP YOU POSITIVE. AND IF SO... IS THERE ANY ON THE EAST SIDE OF CLEVELAND. LIKE THE CITIES OF EUCLID, WILLOUGHBY, MENTOR, EASTLAKE? ANY INFO WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL.. THANK YOU BON BON

I'm not from your area so I don't know where the support groups are but you should DEFINATELY go to a support group before sugery. The people who have had it done know so much and can answer so many questions. My surgeon requires everyone to attend a support group Pre-op. Tara

I agree. I did not start attending support meetings until after my surgery and I really wish I had had the support while I was doing all of the waiting and the testing. It will also help to get ready for the time right after surgery and what to expect. Hope that helps. In what city is St Vincent? Hi, I had my surgery at St. Vincents in April..I just found a support group, went for the second time yesterday. They meet every Wed., but it's near Chagrin Blvd. and Lander Circle (By Orange high school). It's called New Directions and there are some members who have not yet had their surgery..I don't know if this is too far for you to travel..but email me if you want more info..I'll get it to you. Hi! I've not posted on here before, but wanted to reply to your post. I'm the one that's starting the support group in Kirtland. It seems like there will be alot of people attending.
