Jack, I am with you. I just got my first denial letter for a tummy tuck and mastopexy. I just can't understand it. I am as frustrated as you are. I am going to appeal. They wanted more information and more pictures showing my skin underneath. I get so frustrated because they don't seem to understand that this isn't a cosmetic issue. You would think insurance companies would incorporate some type of coverage for excess skin removal for s/p gastric bypass patients. Hang in there. Maybe we can fight this one and win. I was going to post and see if anyone had any words of wisdom on this. I don't know what your insurance(s) are, mine is OSU Prime Care. I am an employee of Ohio State University. I work at the hospital. And to be perfectly honest our insurance sucks, and it is just getting worse. They had recently changed their coverage for weight loss surgery making it almost impossible to get the surgery. Well I hope you can figure something out. I hate to pay for it, but if I can't get coverage, what other choice do I have? Take care, Valerie

Jack Don't give up, I haven't yet Remember If there any skin issue or break down occurs get it medically treated & recorded. Also any back problems to be recorded due to the excess skin. I hope to have news soon for my WLS Take care and don't give up. Daniel

I am sorry Jack. We all agree that the insurance companies have way to much power over our health. I am sorry to ask questions you have probably already answered, but did your doctor say the it was a medical neccesity? I wish you only the best.

None of the medical stuff mattered. I had it all documented. It is an exclusion pure and simple. I am just giving up on it until yhe insurance plan changes.
