LOOKING FOR SUPPORT GROUP

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS A SUPPORT GROUP IN THE LORAIN, ERIE OR HURON COUNTY AREA...ST V'S HAS ONE BUT THAT IS AN HOUR DRIVE FOR ME AND STARTS BEFORE I GET OFF OF WORK. I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO JOIN ONE IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY IN THESE AREAS. THANKS

Barb, I am sorry, my meetings are in Cincinnati. However, my online support group would be most helpful. Just visit my WLS Website imnotfatanymore.com. Just put the 3 www's before it. Support is really important. If you can't find a meeting in your area, perhaps you can start one of your own. I did this nearly 4 years ago. Sandy Pierce

barb-not sure but there used to be something in elyria or north ridgeville? and maybe sandusky? they may be specific to a surgeon's office tho... hopefully someone will post some help for you! we would be a bit far also- and our online support isn't full force yet....

Hi Barb, You are right support is so important on the journey. Best of luck finding a support group. We are always here on the boards until something pops up.

Barb, There is a support group in Sandusky at Firelands Hospital. Some nurses that work there started their own support group. Currently they have put it on hold for summer months and will start back up again in September. They will let me know when the next meeting is and I will post it on the web site and also let you know. By the way, good luck with you surgery. If you ever need to talk let me know and I will give you a buzz as I live here in Norwalk and have had the surgery a year ago in August. Take care and keep us all informed of how you are doing. Donna
