17 hours to go!

Hi All.... It is only 17 hours until I leave for the hospital. I have started to pack my bag. I want to know from all you experts on what you took or wish you had taken and couldn't live without to the hospital. The nerves have really set in now. I thought it would be hard only having the clear liquids today but that big ol' lump in my stomach is making that part pretty easy. I know I have been on this board a lot lately but it is where I seem to turn to for advice, support, acceptance, or just to hang out, etc.... even more than my family. It's like they are so worried about me that I have to be strong for them. I can't cry or be scared in front of them because it makes them more upset. Sorry for the venting.....Anyway, a big thank you to my AMOS family. Janet M

Janet, I got a lump in my throat just reading your post. I can sense the anxiety/fear/excitement in your words. I am waiting for a surgery date and I'm sure I will feel the exact same way. Just remember how long you've waited for this and how badly you wanted it. You will soon be one of the lucky ones on the "other side". I'm so happy for you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Be sure to post and let us all know how you are doing.

Dear Nancy, Thank you for your kinds words. It's funny how hard we fight to get this surgery, all the red tape and medical "hoops" we have to jump through that now it is in my grasp I am an emotional basket case! I just hope that I am feeling well enough for my biopsy surgery on Sept.9. Thats only 3 weeks after my wls. Anyway, thanks for your support and I will post as soon as I get home. Janet, My prayers are with you. I think that it is quite natural to be scared now, but I think that when you get to the hospital that the staff will make you feel confident and a little more relaxed. God Bless you. Debra

pretty soon all these dumb emotions will be gone and the excitement will set in. Everyday you get on the scale and it keeps going down and not up. I am 6 weeks out this friday and I would do it a minute. Dont be scared because a whole new life is coming your way. Be happy and they will all be so happy for you,Lots of love and prayers,Cindy
