Introductions--Roll Call--Sound Off
Hi All:
My name is Jan K. and I live near cleveland in Aurora, home of Geauga Lake Amusement Park! I'm 54 yr old and had my surgery At St. Vincent Charity Hospital on 4/14/04. So far I've lost 77 lbs. My surgeon was Dr. Ben Meir, who I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.
I was so glad to see so many responses..It's nice to get to know everyone a little better.
My favorite thing to do this summer, well that's a hard one, because losing this weight has opened a whole new world to me..but going on the rides at Geauga lake this past weekend, with my Grandchildren, was just so much fun! To not worry about "fitting" was a joy! To be able to walk around the park for 8 hours without getting tired, and being able to see what fun the kids were having was priceless!

Hello everyone,
My name is Venita. I live in Mansfield,( northcentral Ohio).
I had Open rny at Barix Center, in Groveport, on January 21, 2004. Dr. Victor Stelmack was my surgeon. He is fantastic. I have lost close to 100lbs. My pre-surgery weight was 384.
Cheryl, I was at the WVA OH meeting as well. I had a very nice time and it was wonderful to get to meet and socialize with other WLS folks.
I also participated in a Meet and greet from the BAF forum in Atlanta, two weeks ago. I'd say, that was the favorite activity that I participated in this summer. I took a few days vacation and drove to Atlanta with a girlfriend. We also visited family in Alabama on the way home.
Cheryl, I am excited for you about your weight loss... and it gives me hope that I will be able to also loose 200 lbs. by the time I am 1 yr. out..
I am so hoping!
I was planning to attend the Detroit event as well. Sorry it's cancelled!
I look forward to getting to know you all on this site.... and hello to all the other night owls!
