Introductions--Roll Call--Sound Off
Ok everybody, let's get to know each other.
Give up your Name or Nickname you use on here, where you are from, post-op or pre-op, weight now and before surgery, weight lost, and your favorite thing that you did this summer, and anything else you would like to tell us. I will start My name is Cheryl and I live in the central Ohio area. I weighed 425 before surgery and weigh 223 now. On Aug 25th I will be one year out from surgery. So in about twelve months I lost 200 pounds. One of my favorite things that I did this summer was to begin to go to Obesity Help events. I went to Wheeling and St. Louis and I am going to North Carolina this weekend and then to tulsa and California. I really enjoy getting to meet people that have went through the same experiences as me. So what about you all? Cheryl
Cheryl,
Congrats on your weight loss. Your doing great! My name is Sandy Pierce. I started out at 302 (at my highest weight), and today I weighed in at 125.
I have lived in Cincinnati, OH all of my 40 years.
I would have to say my favorite thing I did this Summer was meet a member of my website/support group from VA. We had a blast this past week. We seen the American Idol Concert, and I didn't have to huff and puff to get there.
Stop by and see me sometime at imnotfatanymore.com.
Love,
Sandy
Cheryl, Good morning! My name is Becky and I'm new to this site. Am investigating the wt loss surgeries available because I think I'm at the end of the line with all the dieting. I'm 320# and I hurt terribly when I walk. I don't think I can handle the gastric stapling surgery and am looking at the gastric pacer or lap band. Is there anyone out there that has had either? Does anyone know of any hospital in the Akron/Cleveland area that does either of these surgeries? By the way, congratulations with your weight loss success!! I'm envious! Becky
hello, My name is Steph. I am still presurgery in the early stages of research and tenatively trying to convince my doc. I live near Columbus with my wonderful husband and 3 beautiful sons. hmmmm favorite thing this summer I dont know it was a good busy summer it always is. Probably selebrating my 5th wedding anniversary with DH. We got married on the 4th of July so the weekend of our wedding there are always 2 or 3 fireworks, usually a festival or two to attend as well as friends and family always around us.
I currently weight between 265-270, my ultimate goal would be 130-135 lbs since I am only 5'2 with a large frame. That is awesome that your getting to go the these gatherings. I have always been the type to enjoy those.
Hi Cheryl,
My name is Ted and you have done great!.........are guys allowed in this roll call?? lol! My starting weight was 396 and had my RNY on 7-9-04 and @ my 3 week check up I was down 30 lbs. my goal is 200 lbs (long way to go ) But I will keep chipping away! I am from the northeast Ohio area. My favorite thing this summer?? I would have to say my surgery.........getting started on this journey has been fun! Can you tell me a little more about the OH events(what goes on?) and when and where in California this will be? I would like to attend one of them. Have a great day!
Ted
Of course men are allowed!! Bring all your friends. You seem to be doing great. For event information you can go to the events page at http://www.ohmemberevents.com/events.htm I don't think the california event is up yet on the events site, so let me direct you to the information. One the Ohio State message board ( the one you are on now) there is a post about the LA event information that was posted by Bo McCoy on 8/6. Click on that and get info on the California event. Lots of things are involved but the people are the best part. They have speakers and vendors that let you try samples for free, talk about plastic surgery and give away prizes. But, the best part is the party afterwards where everyone cuts loose and dances and has some fun!!! Cheryl
