Toledo area Dotors who do WLS?

I am looking for a toledo area drs wbho do Wls. My insurance won't let me go to MCO. Thanks Jennifer D

Hi Jennifer, There are 2 dr's at St Lukes that do the lap band (which I had done on june 16th of this year.. and had no problems and have lost 36 pounds in 6 weeks). Their names are Dr. Duckett and Dr. Oweis. Phone number is 419-893-5591. St. Lukes Hospital is located in Maumee, Ohio which is just outside of Toledo. Their office is also in Maumee. This next monday evening August 9th at 7pm is their monthly meeting where they explain the surgery etc. You have to attend it in order to continue with the process of surgery with them. They also have monthly support group meeting once you are band, they are on the same night at 6pm. Both of these meetings are at St. Lukes Hospital. Give them a call if you'd like more information. They are really a great group of people, and i just love Dr. Duckett !! I orginally was going to have the gastric bypass, but things happened and I ended up with the band and am SO GLAD that I did. There are a couple Dr.'s in Bowling Green, Ohio (which is about 20 minutes from Toledo) that do bariatric surgery. Richard Oakley is one of them. His number is 419-352-1452. I can't remember the name of the other one. They do their surgeries at Wood County Hospital. I hope this is of some help to you. Hi Jennifer, I had the surgery at the Barix Clinic in Yipsilanti MI. I is about 40 miles north of Toledo. I had a great experience there and would highly recommend the Clinic. This surgery is all they do there. Do your research and make an educated choice. Good luck what ever you choose to do.

Dr. Patrick White also does WLS in Toledo. (419) 292-0300 Other than the 2 lap band dr's that's it here in T-town (well Maumee), unless the others are hiding Dr. Richards and Dr. Dietrich are no longer in Toledo. Dr Celik isn't doing bariatric surgery anymore. Really shortens the list for Dr's in the Toledo area.

Hi Jennifer. I had Dr. Patrick White do my lap rny at St. Vincent's on 3-10-04 and he did a great job. No complications even though I was the highest BMI he had ever done. I have lost 120 lbs. now and feel great. I highly recommend Dr. White, but had a miserable stay at St. Vincent's. I would recommend asking for Toledo Hospital if he does your surgery. Good luck.
