Denied
I decided to call Aetna yesterday to check on the status of my "request" for WLS. Much to my surprise, I was told they could not "find" me on the computer. I was told to call back next week as they put people into the computer in the order they came in. I was pretty upset by this as I had e-mailed Aetna and received back a message on 7/15 that my records had been forwarded to patient management and this woman was now saying I wasn't there nor could I be found.
I e-mailed the individual back at Aetna that had told me this and today I was told they had denied me on 7/26-the very day they told ME they couldn't find me in the computer!
Here's the reason they say I was denied-"it appears that the medical information provided by your doctor did not warrant this procedure, however, there will be more information in the letter that you will be receiving."
I don't know HOW they feel the doctors didn't provide information that warrant this procedure-I had a letter from the surgeon, pcp and cardiologist along with doctors notes, etc.
I guess the appeal battle begins!
