Hi looks like I'm the only one....oh well....how's cleveland? It's kinda fall weatherish here..supposed to be for like the next 5 days..you know I ain't complainin though...70's are awesome compared to 90's!!

The weather here in Cleve was great this past Friday and Saturday night. Today it's cold and damp outside. I did yard work for the most of the day today and got a lot accomplished because it was not so hot. I enjoy the 70's weather but I prefer 80.

I am from Van Wert Oh it is in the low 70s today nice break from the high 80s hope you are enjoying yhe cool weather.

OK, I live in Columbus now, but I grew up in the Wellsville/ELO area, so at least I know where you are talking about. When I was growing up, Ogilvies was still downtown ( I know, it's gone completely now - even in Calcutta ) and so was Penney's. My friends and I used to hang out at the Hot Dog Shoppe and we swam at Lake Marwin ( also no more )! Have you had or are you planning to have surgery and will it be done in ELO ?

Isn't the Hot dog shoppe the bomb? It is still the best!! Where was this Lake Marwin? I haven't heard of it, that's weird!! I'm 26 and don't think that's TOO young to not have heard of it!! I do plan to have surgery in Pittsburgh at Allegheny General and I plan to have the Duodenal Switch done, I meet with my surgeon for the initial consultation this Friday, I have spoken with my ins. and they said they don't cover that surgery so I will be getting in touch with this attorney my friend Melissa hooked me up with. I bet you are glad you got out of this town!! Are you happy in Columbus? ~Tema~

Yep. The HDS is the bomb! I'm sure the Chili-cheese fries are at least partly responsible for my need for WLS ! When I'm in the area ( once or twice a year ) I make sure I stop in there and it still tastes the same as it did 30 years ago. Lake Marwin may have been called something else when you were a child, but I can't remember the other names. I think it's still just sitting there, empty. I drove there once to see what it looked like and it was spooky - all abandoned and run down. It's up on top of the hill between Wells and ELO and had a huge pool, a lake, picnic pavilions,mini golf, a dance hall, etc. If that doesn't ring a bell ask your parents or an older sibling about it. I like Columbus although it is too big and too congested. I would love living "back home" if it was like it used to be when I was growing up ( in the 1960's ) I still miss it sometimes. My best friend still lives in Wells. and she had WLS at Beaver Medical Center about three years ago. She lost 100 pounds and is doing great. Her insurance paid for all but $35.00 of her entire bill !!!!!!! Can you believe it ? I am still in the "waiting to hear" mode, so I can have my initial consultation and start the process. My insurance will only pay 50%, but I'm hoping my husband's will pick up some of the balance. Good luck with your pursuit of coverage and don't give up ! There is legislation in the Ohio Senate ( SB 41 ) which ( if it ever passes ) will make it illegal for insurance companies who cover people in Ohio to refuse to pay for WLS - they will have to give it the same coverage they do other surgeries. So help may be on the horizon. And while you're waiting for your surgery --------- have some chili-cheese fries for me, K ?
