I had tuna and a little tomato today and could only eat 3 bites before I had some kind of terrible pain.I have had this 7 times before and I have been fine. Pureed. I had to take a pain pill for the first time in 1 week.2 weeks out. Any suggestions?I had a B-12 shot today, could this have anything to do with it? I feel I would do better on soft foods better then trying to find food to puree.I dont know what to do.I have been feeling so well until now, Cindy

Cindy, First I am sorry you hurt! Ouch. Has the pain gone away? I would jus****ch it. Maybe too much tried to pass through your anastamosis too fast. I can't believe you are doing tuna and tomatoes this early! I was on pureed/liquids for two weeks, then soft diet. I didn't try tuna until I was about 4 weeks, and I didn't do fresh veggies until 4 months. However, everyone is different and your diet protocols may be different than mine. I would back off that and just do soft foods and watch for more pain. If it continues PLEASE call your doctor. Pain is an indicator. Did you vomit? Keep an eye on it and you know if you have questions or something doesn't seem right always call your doctor. That is what they are there for. I don't think the B12 shot caused any pain, but that doesn't mean I know everything, because believe me I don't. Anything can be a side effect. Take care my friend. I hope you feel better. Valerie

Cindy I agree that it might have been a little too soon for tuna. I didn't do tuna for 4 weeks also. You may not have chewed it enough and the acid in the tomato might have caused some trouble also. Call your surgeon Monday if you are still having a problem.

Hey Miss Cindy, As others have said, tuna is too hard to digest this early in the game. Canned chicken is fine pureed, just not tuna. I hope to see you at my meeting this Friday night the 30th. Call me if you need directions. In fact, call me today. I would like to catch up. Love, Sandy

Cindy~ Maybe eating a tomato now is too soon. My doctor does not allow them till after 8 weeks. The seeds are not good for us at this time. I also eat tuna but i puree it with light mayo till it's almost liquid. How is your pain now? Good Luck !
