Hello from Xenia!
Hey all you Buckeyes...just wanted to give a shout-out to everyone. I'm new here on the board and I'm loving looking around the site and reading all the posts.
I had my surgery June 28th at Kettering Medical Center with Dr. Rita Hadley from New Life Surgery. She ROCKS! Say HEY! if you had (or are having) Rita!
I had surgery on a Monday and got out Wednesday afternoon. By my two week appointment I had already lost 28 pounds! That was the funnest 28 pounds EVER! WOOT! This is my first week back to work and while I'm completely knackered by the time I get home at five, it's been nice to get back to feeling useful.
I have not had any problems at all except for a minor infection on my incision, but it's clearing up well with some serious doses of Keflex. I've been eating pretty much what I want within the guidelines they provide for the first three months. We had a carry-in at work today and I even had some of the food!
I'm still in awe over the changes - good, bad, and indifferent - my body and mind have gone through since committing to this surgery. While there have been some difficult times mentally and physically, I can only look to the future when I'll be thinner and undoubtedly a little more happier.
Good luck to everyone!
Kasey

Hey Kasey! I remember you!
No, I haven't actually talked to him, but I am impressed that he is all over the place on the board! I would like to think I am related! He seems to truly care about his patients, and I know how busy surgeons are. The fact that he takes time from his schedule to get on and talk to you guys is really something.
Believe me I know, I work with MD's everyday, I know how hectic their lives are.

Hey Kasey
I had my surgery on the 29th of June. I'm glad to hear you are doing well. I had no complications either. I'm down 28.8 pounds so far. I can't believe what a diffrence 28.8 pounds makes. I know it's just the beginning, which makes it even more exciting! I can't wait to really exercise in a couple weeks. I walk as much as possible. Pureed food stinks, but it's only a couple weeks out of our life, right?! lol
Keep in touch and Great Job!
God Bless,
Ang
Hi Kasey and all the other wonderful Buckeye's,
I met with Dr. Hadley yesterday. I only got about 5 minutes of her time, was kinda upset but I know she was just checking to see if I was a Lap. contestant Drove an hour and half to hear: ya your fat and you can have Lap. LOL
My surgery is scheduled for 9/22/04, she said I would have an appt. with her about a week before and we could go over everything. It just can't come soon enough I feel like my weight is just spiraling out of control!!!!!!!!!!
I am also very nervous about having to take time out of my job, (4th grade teacher). I've never been abs. more than like 3 consecutive days. I don't think the parents are going to be very happy with me. I tried to get it done over the summer but it was not possible.
Well gotta go, congratulations on all of the weight loss, can't wait to be on the looser's side!!!!!!!!
God Bless,
Mary
