Ohio Medical card and DS?

Have any of you by chance had the DS done and had the Ohio Medical Card as your insurance? I realize it is doubtful as not many people are getting the DS but I am curious....or any of you that have had the Ohio Medical card how was your experience with them and getting preapproved? ~Tema~

Tema- I have the Ohio Medical Card, Medicaid. I was approved first try. I had no problems what so ever. The Financial advisor told me they usually have no problem with Medicaid as long as you have medical ness. for the surgery. Good Luck in your journey! Ang

Thanks Angela but I'm not so sure about them approving the Duodenal Switch...I am so nervous I dream about it EVERY night all night long about whether I will get approved or not!! My surgeons secretary right now is calling the med card with the surgery code to see if it would get approved or not....I might have to go with the RNY if not....didn't really want to...it seems the DS has many more advantages....guess I'll see sooner or later though...but yah I know the med card approves the RNY rather quickly...hopefully they'll see the ds as the same thing.. ~Tema~
