UHC PPO from Limited for Barix Clinix Please help!!!!!

Please someone help!! I just received some info from someone that my insurance may not cover the clinic? However I was told it would and have been going through my preop clearances. I am confused right now, I was so excited, and now I don't know. I would appreciate any help right now.

Dear Connie, I have a local friend who had surgery at Barix this past March. She has UHC and she said her plan paid all but $1000. out of pocket. Hope this makes you feel a little better! Keep fighting for it! Janet

To my knowledge, The Limited offers a policy that covers the RNY. It is a UHC policy. Hope this helps. Don't sweat it. Your surgeon's office will check for benefits.

Hi Connie, I have UHC and Barix is an out of network provider. In my case that meant that the most I would have to pay is $1500. I had my surgery in April and still have not been billed for my portion, so I do not know how much I will have to pay. Hope this information helps. I felt that the expertize of the doctors at the Barix Clinc made it worth spending the money. Best of luck to you on your journey.

Hi Connie! With most of the medical insurance companies (Aetna, Anthem, Humana, United Healthcare,etc.) it depends more on who the employer is because they decide what kind of insurance plan they are buying. I have seen Anthem not pay for weight loss surgery on one patient and then pay on another. I have found that the smaller the company you or your spouse works for the less likely that insurance companies will approve and pay for WLS. It drives me crazy! Hope that helps!
