In 5th month...what are good food choices now??
Hello, I just started my fifth month post-op. I started at 290 (surgery date: 3/1/04) and I am now down to 214. I had NO idea this would come off so quickly. But, I am questioning exactly what is a yes or no to eat at this point. I still don't eat bread. I have gone so long without it that I have lost the urges. But, I still get confused when I go to a restaurant what would be a good choice. I'm getting awfully sick of salads and soup.
Thanks!

When I go out I look at meals with chicken, pork or sea food. Those all go down easy for me. I am 9 weeks post-op and haven't tried bread and I agree I don't really have the urge to. When I order a chicken sandwich or something like that I just take it off the bun and eat it with a fork.
Try those type of items and you should be fine

Hello there this is Erin Hurst I am the Dr. Curry's Dietitian. I would say you can have pretty much anything. Well besides high fat and high sugar foods. I would go easy on the fresh fruits and vegetables and high fiber foods. They can cause gas, bloating and diarrhea. If you need anything else feel free to email me!
