Hello group, I had my gall bladder romoved 9 days ago. I hurt more than I expected. Can anyone tell me if they have had any problems? How did you change your eating, add more vitamins or what? They had a hell of a time getting to it. The procedure should have been 45min., it took 2+ hours. BTW, I am post op open RNY 0ne year today, 130 lbs. down and 25 to go! Congrats to all the newbies and approvals! Slainte, (Health in Gaelic) Lynn

I would say taking out your gall bladder shouldn't effect you as for eatting. I had trouble when they took mine out 4 years ago but that was before my rny 8 weeks ago. I had trouble with diarreha bad I had to take a presc. for bulk because everything I ate went straight through me.You would think that I wouldn't need rny because everything went straight through, I was worried that having the rny. would make it worse but it isn't it is better. I use to be afraid to go anywhere and eat because of it but now I have no trouble but like I said I am only 8 weeks out of rny so that could change to. Yes gall bladder surgery is painfull I was ok the day of surgery we even took the kids for ice cream the next day I couldn't move everything from my hips up hurt so bad I had it done lap so I can only imagin what you are going through. I have had7 differant surgerys over the past 10 years and the gall bladder was one of the worst the only other one was atumor on my hand that I had to have removed. The gall bladder is a storage unit for stomack bile and since you have had a bypass I would say you don't have alot of bile to store anyway. Good luck I hope you start feeling better soon Rynae
