Got Approved Today!
Hi Everyone,
I just found out today that I have been approved for surgery by my insurance! WOO...HOO!!! Now I have to wait for the written approval to come in mail so Barix will start the scheduling process. I am so happy that the wait is over. It only took 2 weeks for approval but seemed like a lifetime! I am very happy and scared all at the same time. I have told a few friends and family and am a little disappointed in some of their responses. I am so excited and then get bummed by their ho hum reaction. Has anyone else had the same experiences? Was also wondering if anyone out there has had a VBG then later had a RNY? Would like to know how it went, any complications, your successes now,etc....

Try not to take it to heart how others are reacting to your news, as long as you know u made the right decision and feel comfortable with it that is all that matters. Some of my family were the same way and I just decided heck with it..I need this, I am gonna do it. Just remember you have many on here who are happy for you. I will keep sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

Congratulations, Janet! Be patient with friends and family - they will be oohing and aahing all over you when you are successful. Today my PCP said to me, "You are a very beautiful woman - who knew what you were hiding behind all those layers!" I wonder how I'll feel when I reach my goal weight and people stop making over me?! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. I'm just at the very first baby step of my journey, so it's especially thrilling to hear of someone who's at your step. Now you move on to Cindy's big step and have the actual surgery!
Janet, don't let anyone put a damper on this for you. When you feel disheartened by others lack of excitement for you, make it a point to come in here and get what you need from us. We're all thrilled for you!
