Need some Help with a PCP

Hi, everyone. I am just now starting out on my journey to a new life. I have my initial consultation with Barix Clinic in Groveport on July 12. I currently live in Columbus. The BIG problem I am having is...My PCP that I have been seeing for the past 3 years is completely against WLS. He will not submit to the insurance company for approval. (WLS is covered with my insurance as long as it is medically necessary.) I need to find a new PCP in Columbus that is not against the surgery. My BMI is 47.8 plus I have diabities, high cholesterol, swelling of the feet, low back pain, etc. I have made up my mind that after years of trying anything and everything this is my chance to be healthy, and I will not give up. If anyone has a Dr in the Columbus area that did recommend approval for them, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Lisa, I am not in Columbus but my PCP was great when I just brought it up to him but he is in Lancaster. He is DR Frank and he is really nice and he takes his time with you. 740-654-6300 if you are interested, I am not sure if he is taking new patients or not but there is all that I know. Good Luck!! Lisa, My PCP in Columbus is Dr. Ann Koval. She did my referral to get the surgery covered by insurance. I don't know how quickly she would do it for a new patient - I've been a patient for 8+ years. But, it's worth a try. Good luck. Tandi

Hi Lisa, I'm going through the Groveport Barix also. I had my consultation on the 2nd of July with Dr. Barbara. I haven't even seen my pcp yet, as my old one moved away!!! I'm sure that the clinic can get it through for you. Let me know what happens and how your doing. Connie
