It's over.
Hi everyone! Thanks for the support. I had my roux-en-y last Thursday, 6/24/04. We arrived at the hospital over an hour early because I had horrible delays on previous trips there (2 flat tires one time and 50 minutes in traffic due to wreck another time). Anyway, Dr. Maguire's 8AM surgery cancelled and I got bumped up from 10AM. Yeah! I got out of recovery around noon. I have been very sore, but doing good. I was doing the clear liquids after I got home, and called the doctor's office yesterday afternoon as I was a little confused as when to increase the diet. They informed me that I could be having a soft diet. Today for lunch I got brave and had a Larry's baked potato. I ate it in very small bites over a period of time to make sure I wasn't having problems. I took my binder off a couple hours ago because it was chaffing the tops of my legs and it was just uncomfortable. I will probably put it back on before bed. Did you guys wear your binder constantly after you got home. All advice is appreciated. Will post more later.

Donna,
until our 2 week follow-up we were supposed to wear the binder all the time except for bathing... 4 weeks we were told that we could leave it off say like at home when we weren't moving around.... at 6 weeks it became optional... I still wore mine when i was out shopping or driving in the car... It does provide you tummy with support... try putting an undershirt on before putting on the binder maybe that will help the chafing...
Congrats on you surgery... and welcome to the loosing side!

Congrats! It sounds like your surgery went well. My surgery was scheduled for 11:30 and I didn't go down to surgery until after 1:00. I was still in the recovery room until 9:30 when I got a room. I kept telling myself I only had to do this once!
Anyway, I wore my binder all the time (except for bathing) for 6 weeks.
