Anyone know of a good PCP that will help?
Hi it's me again,
I had posted this some time ago, but let me start again. In May, my PCP sent out letters to all of her patients letting us know that she was closing her practice. Since then, I haven't been able to find anyone that is ver familiar with wls patients or anyone who is real receptive to the idea.
I live in Steubenville, Ohio (although I still have a home in the Columbus, Ohio area that we are selling). I am willing to travel a bit if anyone knows of someone who would be able to help me & take me on as a patient.
Thanks to anyone who can offer suggestions!
Jen
Jen,
I don't know if you want to come to the Springfield area but my PCP is for WLS. She has several folks as patients that have had it also.
I'm not sure she is taking new patients however, her partner (very nice man who was our original do****il he moved to Germany years ago), probably is taking new patients and I'm pretty sure he'd have the same attitidue as my PCP.
If you'd like their phone number, let me know.
Beth
Hi Beth,
Thanks for the info. Springfield would be a little too far away unfortunately, I wish that it wasn't because I need a PCP with some experience with wls.
I found a woman in my area but she proceeded to tell me that I should follow the diabetes diet & how much her mom lost on it. She didn't seem like she would be real receptive to helping me out because she believed if I got to the root of my eating, my problems would be solved...
Thanks again!
Jen
Hi Larry,
I actually used the Trim For Life program to do my psych consult. I don't believe that Dr. Reddy is a primary care physician since he is now performing the bariatric surgeries. If he does see people, I don't know how receptive he would be to the idea of helping me obtain surgery with another surgeon.....
It may be an idea though to see if Trim for Life has any thoughts on this...thanks for the idea!
Jen
