Barium swallow?

How many of you have had to go through and upper GI before having your surgery? How bad is swallowing the Barium? Just thinking about it makes me want to puke!!!!!! thanks, Mary

I didn't think it was too bad. I had no problem. It's actually better than some of the protein shakes/bars I've had.

They put chocolate in mine and the texture was very smooth. You have to fast before that test and it actually tasted pretty good to me. Alice
