Anyone having surgery thru them please let me know how things went from pre testing thru the surgery itself. I was approved in August of last year but am waiting for a name change from medicaid before I get my date and am just wondering how your surgery has been. Guess I want to know what I have to look forward to. Also does he give a list of supplements and vitamins he prefers you to take? Thanks!

I had mine through Dr. Martin, but I now two people that had Dr. Clarey do their Open RNY. One of them had problems. One had a nasty infection that had to be cut out and she is still having problems. The other is doing fine. That's all I know.

Hi Doreen!! I am waiting for approval from my insurance to have surgery and Dr. Bruce will be doing it. I know a husband and wife who have had surgery through them and they have both done well. If you have your approval that is good. My friend is on Medicaid and has had a difficult time getting approved. Tara

Hey Tara! Be funny if we had ours around the same time. I was approved from medicaid in august from my pcp but Dr. Bruce said I need his name on the approval. I dont know why cos all you need is the claim number so I am still waiting. Your friend might get approved sooner than she thinks. I have seen quite a few get it in less then 2 months. I wish you and her a speedy approval! Doreen

I will be having Dr. Bruce for my surgery too! I have medicaid too and got approval in a little over a month. They (Drs. not medicaid) require a psyc evaluation which I just completed yesterday, hopefully I will have a date soon. Would love to hear from others who have had them. I have emailed folks in the patient forum with no answers yet. Good Luck Angela

My psych evaluation is on July 7th. I am gonna call them around then if I haven't heard from them yet and ask if they can at least let me do the pre-testing since I have been approved. Anything to make it seem like it is going faster...LOL How do u think you did on the evaluation? Keep me informed. Good luck to you as well! Doreen

I have had both Drs. Bruce and Clarey perform several surgery on me sine my gastric by-pass. Dr Clarey has been doing this for 17 years and I wasn't scared one bit I felt comfortable with her and her experience has a surgeon. I did have open wounds when I first had my surgery it took 2 months for them to heal . Since then I have had a abdominal hernia and just recentluy had to have a capusle removed from my stomach because of fluis build-up from the hernia surgey I had last June. Other than I have had no problems. They gave me the list with the packet that's how I got mine. I am 19 months out and feel wonderful. I wore a size 34 in womans and am down to a 14-16

Congratulations!!! I think you are doing wonderful on your weight loss and hope you don't have anymore problems. I have my packet from the seminar and I always check their website as well. I just wonder if everyone takes the same pre-tests? Keep up the good work! Doreen

I had the normal test but I also had to see a cardiologist and a pulomnary doctor because I had asthma. And if you weigh over 300 pounds she makes you see them to. Least they made me but that's been almost 2 years. And of course the normal blood test that they do

Hello, Dr. Bruce did my surgery 3 months ago and I have went from a size 22 to a 16 and I am loosing daily. I have lost 66 pounds. I did not have any problems with the surgery or the recovery except a few weeks ago my gallbladder descided to quit working so I had it removed. Dr. Clarey is also a very good surgeon as she was the one who took my gallbladder out. They are both very good people and I trust them both completly. I did not have to go for a psyc eval as they do not require one unless your insurance wants you to have it done. Unless something has changed??? I did have to go to a Nutritionist for information and the normal blood work, upper gi etc.... It went really good!! I want to wish you the very best on your surgery, you will be in good hands with either of them. Please post something on here when you find out your date. If you ever need anything you can email me at [email protected] Love & Peace, Sasyshorts
