HELLO, I know that gas pains are a common problem with post-op patients, we recommend Gas-X, it does seem to help a little. Are you taking Pepcid or Prevacid? These medications help with stomach acid that can cause excess gas pains. You can get it Over the Counter at any pharmacy. Taking 2 of these a day is the same as a prescription strength. I hope you start feeling better. You can get through this... Take Care

I am 4 weeks out and the best thing I found was to walk it off. You may not pass it all because all of it isn't actually in your gastric system it is in the body around where they worked. so walk, walk, walk. Also a massage if you have someone to rub the soar spots or a mild back vibrator help move it so it isn't sitting in the same spot. I was told at that early stage you are at the you can't take anything. every doctor is differant but I can't take pills for 6 weeks unless that are ground up into powder form and mixed with like apple sauce or something to hide the taste. Don't worry should last to much longer I think about 6 days was the length of mine gas discomfort. Don't take anything without asking your doctor first. Ther is also a childrens gas treatment called mylocon liquid form may help but ask your doctor first. good luck rynae
