Hello, I am fairly new to this. I have been researching WLS for about 5 years now. I have 2 beautiful daughters now and decided that it is time to go to the next level. I attended a seminar, had my psych. eval and am scheduled to see the surgeon on June 25. My problem is that I am so scared of what could happen after surgery. I dont want to leave my great supportive husband or my two daughters. Are my feeling normal? I go back and forth all the time. I should do this... I shouldn't do this. I just want to feel good and enjoy my family. HELP!

Hi Stephanie, I think you are feeling normal things. I go back and forth all the time but I sure do feel better about doing it than not. I know I will have regrets if I do and if I don't. I really worried a lot in the beginning aobut dying but not anymore. I am really confident in my surgeon. I think that means a lot. And I have found a lot of support online. have you been to any support forums or meetings? what surgeon are you seeing? I have a grown daughter and 2 granddaughters I want to stay around for. I can hardly wait to have this surgery I know only good things will come from it. PJ

I think everyone feels this way at some point in time......I know that I sure did! I finally had to make a choice...find some peace about it and move forward. No one can make this choice for you. I'm sure you'll do the right thing. Pain helped me decide,,,I had much pain in my joints....and little to no sucess losing the weight! I feel so much better, and losing 110 pounds Helped me be about 90% pain free! All the best to you! Jenny
